So the determinants some down to laptop and phone OS, and that takes us back to standards, which is where we are not going here.
The obvious example I would pick to add to your list is gmail, google reader, and a decent phone browser for SN's offer a fabulous integration and always in sync. This combo works superbly on windows, linux, Mac, blackberry or iphone.
